Consecutive or Concurrent Dating?
How do you like to date? And can Reid remember the word?
With Cathy Vartuli from http://www.TheIntimacyDojo.com and Reid Mihalko from http://www.ReidAboutSex.com.
Reid: Hello everybody, it’s Reid Mihalko from http://www.ReidAboutSex.com.
Cathy: And Cathy Vartuli from http://www.TheIntimacyDojo.com
Reid: And we have an answer. We figured out from this other video that we’re shooting about concurrent and congruent relationships, and I’m like, that’s not the word. The word is consecutive. Consecutive relationships, or consecutive lovers. We had somebody who wrote in, who was talking about they weren’t good at having multiple relationships happening at the same time and the word is consecutive.
Reid: Consecutive relationships vs concurrent relationships. Concurrent.
Cathy: At the same time.
Reid: Concurrent means having things happening at the same time, so I have concurrent relationships. I have lovers or relationships happening at the same time and then consecutive, or serial, with an S.
Cathy: One after the other.
Reid: Is I’m having relationships one after the other.
Reid: We just thought we would share that.
Cathy: Yeah. Do you prefer consecutive or concurrent relationships?
Reid: Hopefully, no matter what relationships you’re having, the self expressions are in alignment and congruent with your beliefs. Then if you’re super smart and savvy, you’re having these either consecutive or concurrent relationships with people for whom the relationships you’re having with them, are also congruent so that everything’s in alignment and that’s basically the idea of dating your species, where you’re having relationships that make you happy with people for whom those relationships also make you happy. Whether you’re having concurrent relationships or consecutive relationships, there’s no value judgment here, we just want you to be happy.
What is a no type of relationship in my belief, I won’t put words in your mouth, is no relationship is more evolved than the other, except for you having relationships that are congruent with you and congruent with the person or people that you’re having relationships.
Cathy: I like them to be conscious and consenting as well.
Reid: Yes, so when you’re dating your species, ideally the idea of you having the relationships you want with people who also want to have those same kinds of relationships, that to me, and I guess to you.
Reid: Is what is evolved. There you have it, congruent, consecutive, evolved. Now go out there and make the world a better place. What do you think? Leave your comments below.
